have more fika breaks

Originally used as a Swedish verb meaning “to go out for coffee,” the word fika can also be used as a noun: “coffee break”. It is standard in Sweden to invite friends to fika every few hours during the work day. One’s coffee is normally accompanied with a small snack such as a cinnamon bun. A rarity for indie cafes, we pride ourselves by making all of our pastries in house from scratch!

"Since 2013, Fika Café continues to provide a cozy place in Toronto for people to come and break away from the ordinary with exceptional coffees, teas as well as housemade pastries, served by one of our welcoming baristas."

BEAUTIFUL CAFE IN THE HEART OF KENSINGTON MARKET

Fika is located in the heart of Toronto’s eclectic Kensington Market, in a century old quaint home filled with light in a Scandinavian decor. Our cozy back room features an entire wall lined with old books. The backyard patio is the perfect place to sit on a cold beverage and a book, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our logo is represented by the Dala horse, which is a symbol of Sweden.

We are a multi roasters specialty coffee shop rotating our espresso beans with different roasters every few days. Since 2026, we have also expanded into roasting our own coffee with a Stronghold S7x under our sister brand Lycka Coffee Roasters.

A curated pour over menu is also available weekdays only.
